Budgeting and YOUR Front Desk!
What should my budget be for the Front Desk?
It is 5% of Gross Sales. Let’s break that down:
Service Sales + Retail Sales = Gross Sales
Gross Sales x .05 = X
X = the monthly budget for your Front Desk!
What should I pay per hour for a Front Desk position?
That’s a really complicated question to answer! As we know, coast to coast and city to city the minimum wage varies significantly.
What we encourage you to do is HIRE COMPETITIVELY.
I went through the McDonald’s drive-thru the other day and saw that they are starting at $10/hour, at Bath and Body Works they had a sign that said – “Starting at $11/hour.” That is definitely more than what the minimum wage is for the city – but that is what the COMPETITIVE starting wage is. That’s where you start.
